Are you looking forward to retirement, or are you dreading it? |
Whatever your situation, retirement is a major life change. Change brings mixed emotions and can be very stressful, particularly if it is unexpected or outside your control. Even if you are looking forward to retirement it is natural to feel some apprehension and you will probably have many questions and concerns, such as:
How will I manage financially?
What shall I do with my time?
What is my place in the world, now that I no longer have a job?
How will I cope with ageing?
A happy and successful retirement depends on you - your attitude and behaviour, health, finances, social support, hobbies & interests. If you are worried about the changes that retirement brings, you can often become stressed without realizing it and this stress can make you less able to cope.
